It is a great honor for me to serve

as the Chair of the 2023 Kaohsiung
ટաவɓࡈԉЍձப΂dԨಂܙ͊Ըٙܿ኷fί RID
Institute. I gladly accept this role and
responsibility and look forward to Ghim Bok Chew ձ RID Muhammad Faiz Kidwai ̂တ
the challenges ahead. Taking on this ݺɢձြ౽ٙჯኬɨዄ΂வࡈࠠࠅᔖਕdᜫʦϋί̨ᝄ
important role under the dynamic and ৷ඪᑘБٙή੭޼୦ึϓމ 2023 ϋ਷ყҧቃ௰ዧਗɛ
wise leadership of RI Directors Ghim ːձ௰๝าٙݺਗʘɓdவਗ਼݊Ңࡁ௰ɽٙϗᖡf
Bok and Faiz is our greatest reward
for hosting this year's Rotary Institute in Kaohsiung, ଺הմٝdʦϋҧቃٙ˴ᕚ݊jމ˰ޢ௴ிҎૐi

Taiwan, one of the most exciting and heartwarming events ה˸Ңࡁซᔟவϣᑘ፬ݺਗٙዚึdঐމ2023৷ඪ
for Rotary International in 2023.
޼୦ึ௴ிҎૐdఱ྅ "HOPE" வࡈ൚ٙў່ɓᅵj
As everyone knows, this year's Rotary theme is "Create "HOPE"݊Ңࡁٙڦׂɰ݊Ңࡁٙᗴ౻fҢࡁಂܙ਷ყ
Hope in the World." We want to take this opportunity,
ҧቃ 1Be9 ձ 10 ή੭ٙהϞҧቃٟࡰ˸ʿԸІ˰ޢՉ
through hosting this event, to bring hope to the 2023
Kaohsiung Rotary Institute. Just like the meaning of ˼ήਜٙ਷ყҧቃٟࡰٙᆠː˕ܵf
the word "HOPE": "HOPE" is our belief and vision. We
வ݊৷ඪୋɓϣϞዚึᑘ፬νϤࠠࠅٙ਷ყึᙄf
look forward to the zealous support from all Rotarians
from Rotary International Zones 1B, 9, and 10, as well ৷ඪЪމ̨ᝄی௅௰ɽ̹ٙ۬ʘɓdৰəኹϞІ್౻ᝈ
as Rotary International members from other parts of the ʘ̮dவࢭ̹۬݊੽ʈุᚨਗٙژ˒ࠠᕄᔷᜊމΌଢʷ
world. ձ͛࿒ʾλٙ൱׸ʕːfҢࡁ̙˸ІႴήႭj৷ඪৰə

This is the first time Kaohsiung has had the opportunity ঐ੄ᑘ፬਷ყึᙄ̮dᒔ࠽੻౤Զଉܓ༷ٙࣚઞ॰d˸
to host such an important international conference. Being ʿϞ̂ྼٙίή˖ʷၾߕ࠮fҢࡁ޴ڦஞ܄ࡁɓ֛ึ஗
one of the largest cities in southern Taiwan, aside from வ༁Ꮄߕν೥ٙ౻Ѝഹ৖f
its natural wonders, the city has transformed itself from
an industrial-driven powerhouse into a globalized and Ңࡁ͜௰਺੶ٙจқձʫːԸ࢝ତҢࡁٙᆠઋd
eco-friendly trading center. One may proudly claim that

besides hosting an international conference, Kaohsiung λɓʲ̀ࠅٙ๟௪dԴɓʲϞࣖଟԨᐏ੻Ңࡁซࠅٙഐ
City is worth exploring for its rich culture, local cuisine, and
picturesque views. We are confident that visitors will be ؈dவᅵהϞٙрɢ௰୞ே݊࠽੻ٙf
captivated by its charm.
